Why isn't the digital TV service available on Freeview?

Ideally we'd have liked to have included Freeview in the service, but we are trialing a system developed by the National Project for Digital TV to provide the service. This needs your digital box to be able to send messages back to the main system - Freeview boxes can't do this so it isn't included.

I can't get the digital TV service to work, what can I do?
